No suit, no title, no team
We often think of leadership in quite stereotypical ways… CEOs, world leaders, military officers (or maybe that’s just me?).
You know the pose: arms folded, power suit on, looking serious.
But last week I was putting together a session on leadership for my Launchpad community, and as I searched for decent stock photos… 90% were exactly that.
Which is fine, but it’s not the whole story.
I don't believe leadership has to come with a job title, a corner office, or a team reporting into you.
It might mean:
- Leading a project or process
- Starting something new
- Influencing across a team or organisation
- Being the one who speaks up first
Some of my own leadership experiences have come with teams and titles.
Others have been far more informal: leading ideas, initiatives, or just holding things together under pressure.
And those “informal” leadership moments often take the most courage.
That’s why I’m running an in-person Courageous Leadership Workshop on Monday 2nd December at The Swan at Streatley, a small-group, high-impact day for professionals who want to grow their leadership confidence, no matter their job title.
You can see all the details here:
It’s £297 for the day, including all training and coaching, lunch, coffee and cake, and workshop materials.
I'd love to see you there,
Susan
